The video was terrible. As journalists, we have a duty to publish the truth. Tom Maness's office released it. It is news.
wait until you see the view from the other police car. Neuman was clearly reaching for the taser when Burke walked up. this case already played out before an arbitraitor and police officer were vindicated.
it will come out, but go back and watch the video released and see the police office off balance, suspect crouching to reach and then officer picks up taser.
Why is everyone making good ole D Newman out to be a helpless victim? It appears the officers should be disciplined, but jail for using too many blows of the baton on a thug? The problem is not that they used the club on the thug, but that they hit him too many times.
Has anyone else noticed that every time you post something here, the first time you select "Post Comment" it does not work and a red dot appears. Then the second time it does. Is this Google's reaction to the Klein lawsuit?

i called greg b. today, the number listed on this site. I can confirm, that he is leaving, he told me so his self. he was a little put out about the way kfdm has been handling things, and said he was happy to move on and open a new chapter in his life.
Is Simien going to KBMT or KBTV? Phil never said... ref: The Southeast Texas Political Review has learned that Jackie Simien - who left KFDM - TV two years ago - will begin to anchor the Six and Ten news shows beginning with-in a month. Current anchor Beverly Brooks will move over to the NBC side of the company and start a news program which is considered a promotion for Brooks - who is one of the most up and coming news talents in Southeast Texas.
The Review has also learned this morning that KFDM will face "drastic cut backs in staffing levels that will affect every department at KFDM." When asked if they thought layoffs were coming for the newsroom - the reply was : "every department."
Fil's "scoops" came AFTER other bloggers posted items about Jackie Simien and Jim Walker. KFDM spokesman David Orwell says he's lying about cuts at KFDM, and the Enterprise was in my driveway this morning after Fill predicted it would cease to publish Sept. 1.
