None of us are perfect but if you think you are, then maybe someone should take the initiative and start looking into your past mistakes and posting them on this blog. As for KFDM TV6, it is easy to sit and judge, looking down on others when the work of great anchors and reporters put you where you are today. You can make fun of Larry Beaulieu all you want but it was Beaulieu and Cecile Burandt who put KFDM in the position it is today. Another point would be that KFDM TV6 was the first television station in the market - that gives them a head start with the older crowd, which are primarily the ones filling out the antiquated Nielsen forms. If it is so great, why did the staff have to forgo profit sharing, give up raises and take several furlough days? You can blame Freedom Broadcasting's other stations all you want but the truth is, KFDM TV6 still docked your pay. You can be at the No. 1 station all you want but it doesn't make your paycheck any bigger. The last time I looked, if it wasn't for friends, family and roomates very few of KFDM's reporters could affford to survive. It's hard to pay bills on $8.85 an hour. Then you have KBMT TV12 with Paul Bergen at the helm. He is too busy simply trying to get something to one the air to have any real depth to the news. Between his anchors' questionable ethics, the lack of competent reporters and a skrinking budget, they are doing good to have a newscast on most days.
You may be right, but silly videos posted on You Tube by the news director, a "rapping weatherman", and a goofball "political commentator" who's been sued for libel more times than the National Enquirer does NOTHING to help FOX 4's image.

Yes this market is traditionally a starting point for young reporters. However, many of those at KFDM are here because they have chosen to stay and raise families. Greg Bostwick could have left years ago. Cecile retired and stayed but remember her husband Greg grew up here. The same with Larry.
As to FOX 4, they are nothing more than a bunch of misfits trying desperately to find a recipe that will work yet not realizing that they are missing the one key ingredient needed-talent.
Ware is good at sports, and is the only decent thing on KBTV. Seriously, I thought Angel would do better, I really did. I expected Channel 4 to put on a good news program. They tried, and well, so far it has been a failure. The 3 hour news in the morning has been a failure. There is just nothing to keep your interest. The hour news shows, are the same things over and over and over. Maybe a local news story of interest or two, and then filler after filler of national/regional news. I would like to see KBTV be a player, I really would, But so far, they have been a disappointment.
