Today SETX says so long to another good reporter. Michael Seiden is leaving Channel 12. This guy didn't get much attention on this blog, so I guess that means he did a pretty good job during his tenure in the swamp.

One of our anchors spent 15 minutes on a rampage about how bad a reporters work was even though the reporter was not in the room. Crap like that makes me glad I'm in production and not in the news room. Those people are idots!
Ron Burgundy's ego is so much like that of the on-air 'talent' in this area. I find a good way to spot the no-talent sycophant is by gaging the volume level of his or her complaining. The anchor that complains the loudest is usually the one with the least idea of what is going on. People who bitch in the middle of the newsroom are merely distracting people from their own incompetence. Loyalty to the area isn't the reason some people have not moved on to bigger markets.

Our "seasoned" news people really need to step up.
I am pleased with Leger's recent reports on BISD, and Angel San Juan never shies away from a chance to report, even though he is a New Director.
I think it is high time some of the other media elite follow that example. Kevin Steele, Jackie Simeien, Mike McNiell, Sheldra Brigham, Nicole Murray, Kelly Phillips, Dan Gresham...all these people can be doing more than looking "good" on camera.

Fox's report of the Walker indictment was far and away the biggest FUCK YOU to everyone who pays taxes in the city of Beaumont.
Angel San Jaun gave nearly FOUR minutes to Dick Degeurin, who basically said "BISD isn't complaining...no harm, no foul. Right?"
Never in the story does Tiana detail any of the 37 charges, but there sure is a great soundbite from Degeurin, "I know that some of the media outlets have been very anti-Walker but others have been very fair. Your station for instance has tried to show both sides of the story and done a very good job at it but there are other who have not."
Our local Fox station has become as pathetic as the garbage that passes as news on the Fox News Network.
As a citizen, I say shame on your Fox 4 and shame on you Angel San Juan.

There was a long time coach fired in Buna and the reasons are questionable. The coach was fired under the story that their classes were no longer a requirement. If you look at the school handbook for 11-12, the classes are still needed for graduation....There is small town politics involved and the community is pretty upset at the school board. There is a grassroots movement that will probably start a recall in the near future of board members.
Fox can't keep their audio up on todays NA SCAR race. Pitiful station. Now it's with sound but not HD. I would have liked it with sound before now. Missed the proposal and the traditional START YOUR ENGINES!! Gotta get the commericals in with sound.
