The press has gotten dumber and more political over the years. I trust none of them. Right or left.
What a stupid question. Just turn on the evening news. The only thing missing is the little cheerleader outfits when talking about BISD or the elected official of the night.
Yes the media just cheers on BISD. It's quite obvious from watching all of those stories that don't reflect well on the district almost every damn night. You really don't pay much attention, do you Phil?

First, let me help you with something. If I have something to say - I will say it and sign my name to it. Make damn sure of that.
Second, If you really want to know how I think? I think the media does the best it can. There are great reporters - and there are learning reporters - and there are some with a political agenda. It is just the nature of the beast.
Last - I have never, will never and anyone that really knows me knows that I can never ever compare myself to anyone in the media. You are educated in your trade and as well - work for low wages in a very unstable environment right now. I respect all of you - although I think some have forgotten how to report a story from the middle. But it is just what you have learned, how you were taught and your generation. As well you can get mad at myself and the web site all you want. We will continue to point out the one sided reporting as well as the great reporting that is done by all of you regarding politics.
We have been around for over 17 years now. That is before some of you in the media were eating your milk and cookies for snack in 3rd grade. Think about that.
Any man or woman up - sign your name. It brings something to the table of communication and debate. It works both ways which some fear.

Wow! What an insult to journalists. Philip respects you. I'll ask you this, Phil: Can you cite some specific examples of one sided reporting? It should be easy considering how rampant you say it is. And, I want PROOF. Really cite the examples. Show the story and explain how in the overall context of the story that it's one sided. I truly believe you will find some. I can think of two right now and I know the reasons they were unfortunately left mostly one sided. But I want you to participate in this experiment. Use your natural detective abilities and work this one out. If you do, I might tell you who I am.

Answer : Normally I would not answer such an post - but for you great readers - anytime I can point out a great political learning opportunity for you - well I just cannot pass - so here we go!
First, note the first line in the post - being because I respect the area journalists it is an insult to the journalists in this area. Meaning - it is personal for this person. And when it is personal - it is unreasonable. If this poster had simply dropped the first two sentences - then there you go it could have been a great post. But we now know - ANYTHING I answer will be the wrong answer.
Second, now the challenge. Wanting me to show them proof. Interestingly enough - the poster then agrees with my post by saying : "I truly believe you will find some." So wait? I am wrong yet right? We call that the cleansing technique. The writer covers both sides so they can point to be right no matter what. As well - it is now up to me to prove to them that I am wrong yet right? Since this writer is either in the media or close to the media - they know (and admit) stories get killed all of the time because.....well you fill in the blank (s). Then we break them and they are forced into saying something about it - and usually write in a little jab towards us - or change a part of the story to fit the "you were wrong." Cite examples? Daily.
And then the bait - if you do what I want I will tell you who I am. Have any of you ever played the tease game? You know - the one where you tell someone you will do something if they do something and then laugh at them and call them stupid when it never happens. The old school yard bully game?
Well ANON - let's play on my rules - not yours. Sign your name - show proof who you are and I will debate you. Trog is dead anyway so maybe you and I can work together and boost the readership? I will be more than happy to work with you and enlighten our readers. In fact - I will give you the editorial page of the Review to write whatever you want to write - just sign your name. Then I will respond.
Said simply - grow a set. Put your name behind your writing. It gives you credibility.

I beg to disagree. Signing one's name does not by itself give credibility. As a prime example, you Philip, are considered a laughing stock in most circles, social, political, and professional. And not because of your relative failures in life but rather the trash that you post on the internet. As a prime contradicting example, Gus Pillsbury at the Operation Kleinwatch site is very credible. Why, because he takes the crap you write and proves it wrong with facts and supporting evidence. He would be no more or no less credible if we all knew who he was. His blog is read because it takes your pseudo-media approach vendetta against a society that for all practical purposes has scorned you and turns it back on you.
Why do you post here and then turn around and advertise that you have posted here on your own site? Is it to help sustain some lacking sense of self worth?
And will I sign my name? Why? So you can send threatening emails to my employer? Does my anonimity detract from the truth of my words? I think not. Anonymous posters irritate you because you are unable to bully them the way you do everyone else. You cannot follow them around and post pictures of their homes or pets on other anonymous websites. Yes, Philip Klein, you have done this and you know you have. And don't take that vainglorious high road and assert that you do not post either anonymously or under other names. Answer : Again friends - another great learning opportunity and lets get started :
Credibility - it seems to me if you have an opinion - and you sign your name to it you leave yourself open to? But if you hide? You? This poster is trying to stroke their ego and give you (the reader) why they are simply too scared or maybe not even proud enough of themselves to post their real name. It is okay. I get it. And so does the majority of those who read all of the blog sites. The world that this poster lives in is a small world.
Laughing Stock - Again, another good lesson for those of you who read these blogs. Here is how you try to discredit a person or political foe. You simple throw out what you can and try and let it stick. Let's be clear. I have a very close and tight group of family and friends. As for the rest - I simply do not care what anyone thinks, laughs at, in any circles whether it is social, political or professional. I do not socialize, I am opposite of any politco in this area, and professionally - all three operations are international now. If you speak to those outside this area - they laugh at Jefferson County. You simply have to get out a little more. I simply base my operations (all three) from here now. And all is pretty good (thank goodness). Did I just say that I did not care? I think you read that.

It is again interesting (you readers that get it) how this poster takes their shot (your relative failures in life). Let's spin this back to make all of you think? For years this small group of radicals and their offspring have done everything they can over and over and over and ad nausea to attempt to focus on the failures of my life. To the point it has become simply silly. All of it has been done by no named faceless web sites and posters. Now ask yourself why? Well of course - they simply are too scared to use their own names because? Well they too have had failures in life and it is way too easy to take shots at one without opening yourself up to your background. You see - in the liberal world it is okay to attack a conservative and their failures - but never attack a liberal and their failures. Attacking and taking shots are only permissible because conservatives are bad. Liberals are good.
Now friends - the writer speaks of how great all others are (being the two referenced web sites that we are now in litigation with) and again, we are bad, peppered with psycho-babble. The media has turned against me? Please. Who cares? As I like them and respect all of them - frankly - it is Jefferson County Texas. A pimple on the butt of Texas. Do you really think I care? Really?

Now for the final lesson of the day and the week - these words from the poster : Does my anonimity (sic) detract from the truth of my words? Uh....yes. It does. Wake up okay? It means that you do not believe in yourself enough to stand up for yourself and your own thoughts whether it is about me - or the political position you take. You make excuses for yourself by suggesting I would call or threaten your employer? And then you take the same old babble line of me posting pictures of homes and pets. Well, let me help you. The only home we ever posted was Rhonda Dugas's home. Why? She made it an issue. She was applying for a job (running for office in case you get confused) with the taxpayers. She would oversee millions of our (yours and mine) tax dollars. There was a suggestion that just maybe the things she was saying in the media and in public were .... well....just not truthful. And we uncovered it and that was that. We did the media's job while they were touting her as Ms. Wonderful. All the while we learn she was a puppet for the media put up by a certain group that wanted Carl Griffith out of office. Please - do not attempt to change history. But that is what posters like this one try to do - change history.
As for pets? Where you get that from? I just don't know - unless you are talking about the threats towards our home, family, pets and neighbors. Try this - put down the kool-aid cup and look around.
As for signing my name - I do. In every single writing. The high road? You have the right. It is nice to be on the high road. Come on up - the air is clear. As you worship those and write their name under the cloud of anonymity - you in the end are the one that seemingly has the issue with being proud enough to sign your name, and take the flack and attack that it brings with it. I hope and pray you are not in the media - because if you are - you have let down those before you and those behind you. The media and everything around it is based upon truth, honesty, no agenda and mostly pride in your work. Thus you see my admiration for those that work in the media - and those that carry it to the next generation.
Thank you Trog III for the opportunity to post on your site. And Trog knows (we hope) why we post on both sites. Whenever I speak on another site - I post it to mine so that there is no question it is me. Why? There is a long history of people posting using my name, false and libelous statements using my name and my image. Again - we are in the process of stopping that for good. And we have great lawyers in three states as well as a major corporation (Google) that has now said there is zero tolerance. And zero means zero.

I don't think there is proof.
Walter Cronkite's posting of the daily body count during the Vietnam War is a classic example of media taking a political stand. Though somewhat subtle, many consider it a major factor in ending the war in Vietnam. It brought the carnage of Southeast Asia into the homes of middle America.
The question is: Is that a bias or did it happen? Obviously the CBS evening news did not originally create the controversy surrounding the conflict in Southeast Asia. So, would they be ignoring an aspect of their job if they did not post those numbers?
It was the way Cronkite presented it that was so effective

Within the next two weeks, all local stations will combine under one government run corporation. The new letters will be KBUTT
KBTV will overtake the other two stations when The Examiner becomes a non-bias daily newspaper that is not married to a bunch of trial lawyers.

If the media is in bed with BISD, then why did Dr. Thomas tell those in attendance at a school board meeting last week to stop listening to the lies from the media. And why did he urge the media to stop focusing on negative stories and to report the positives????

I was looking at the Empty Prize (in its plastic delivery bag) blowing around in my neighbor's drive yesterday morning. Yes, the paper was in it, and the gentle breeze was blowing it on to my lawn. I like my neighbor but asked him to please keep the litter off my yard.
