I find it hard to believe that every employee at KFDM got a $1300 bonus today when the corporate people have declared bankruptcy. They must have meant KBMT got the bonuses.
I hope the thing about KFDM giving employees bonuses is not true. That would mean it screwed its creditors then gave the cash to its executives. Can you really count on KFDM?
KFDM screwed no one. Freedom Communications filed for bankruptcy protection, leading to limits on payments to creditors. That is all still to be determined by a bankruptcy court. As for KFDM's staff getting a bonus for exceeding business expectations, how does that happen when PRK says the ratings are down and no one wants to advertise with them?
That must be some of the most horrible spin anyone has written on trog's site. I work at a competing station in sales. Our sales are down 10%. The entire market is down. If my direct supervisor got a big bonus when I got time off with money out of my pocket I would leave.
Freedom may be in a bind nationally because of the newspapers, but locally KFDM is getting about 60% of tv ad sales. Every full time KFDM employee just received $1300 because of an agreement concerning the division of profits once revenue goals have been exceeded. It's not spin, it's a fact.

We MUST ignore that they are doing well locally and blame the entire company's bankruptcy on KFDM. Everyone knows they are LAST in the ratings and they run all those commercials for free just to make it look like people are advertising on their station.
